Massage

...yep, today I'm going in for a 90 minute massage!  I think you know I'm also a massage therapist, so I would choose that as a form of 'self-care.'  I do know know that whatever experiences we're having in our 'heads' is also being  processed in our bodies as well. Thus...I was up 3lbs this morning: stress & too much fast food while traveling = Jeri up 3lbs. I know it will be gone soon.
I feel like I've been 'taking' more than 'giving' to you all lately.  Which is quite the opposite of how I generally do things. I'm the caretaker in my family, in my work, in lots of my relationships... I'm sure that surprised you :) And now I'm feeling like I'd like someone to rush in and take care of me for awhile. That's not going to happen, so I'm going in for a massage.
How do you take care of yourselves when you 'hit a wall'?

  1. Enjoy your massage today. And don't worry about the lbs. It will be off in no time. Have a great day :-)

  2. I take an entire day and do nothing but things that I want to do. As in today:)
Enjoy your massage and I did not know you were a massage therapist! I hope you are getting better every day.

  3. Enjoy that massage! I'm pretty good for the most part taking care of myself and my stress level, but once when I felt totally overwhelmed I went to my favorite town for the weekend, stayed in a really cute local motel, and just pampered myself and destressed. My fantastic hubby took care of the kids for me, so I didn't have to stress over their wee-being while I was gone. I was able to sort out my thought, feelings, and life in general at that time. I came back a refreshed, happy wife and mom. It was worth every penny and hour spent away from home. Sometimes you just NEED time to decompress and refocus; it can really benefit everyone.

  4. Nice! When I hit a wall, I go watch a favorite movie, play a favorite video game, make a date for a moms night out.... I'd love a massage, though! How nice!

  5. I've never had a massage by a therapist and it sounds lovely! I know how it is to be the caretaker of many people, rewarding but draining as well. I can tell you are a very giving person and do not feel you have been taking more than giving on here. You are a big supporter of everyone and we appreciate it! When I hit a wall a day spent shopping all by myself sometimes helps or sometimes its escaping to my room to read and be alone.

  6. Hope you have a wonderful massage you deserve it. It is nice when we can just let things go and have someone else take care of us for a change. Just like Beth said you are a big supporter here and now we would like to have a chance to give you a little in return.

  7. How awesome about your massage, you deserve it!!! I love taking naps, hot showers or baths, painting my toe nails or getting a pedicure, and going to the bookstore and looking at whatever book or magazine catches my fancy are some of the things I like to do when I hit a wall. A nice cup of tea or a glass of wine are always nice too, although if I'm too stressed or wound up a cup of tea is better than the wine. :)

  8. P.S. I forgot to tell you that I have the Tracy Anderson Method Mat workout, Dance Cardio, and her Post-pregnancy workout. They are all wonderful but I like the mat and post-preg workouts the best they really challenge me...especially the post-preg because it is very ab focused.
