No Black Friday Regrets

It might be because:
my husband & I spent Thanksgiving-just the two of us (I've been feeling grateful all month-so I didn't feel I had to put all of that into one day...or one meal!)
or
I'm getting older
or
I'm less addicted to sugar
or
???
But it was another day-granted more food, and food I don't generally prepare, but I did just fine. I savored a few appreciated bites of mashed potatoes & stuffing. I'm creating a lifestyle I can live with.
No matter how you 'celebrated' yesterday-I hope you savored all the things and people you love.
No black Friday regrets here...have a great weekend!

  1. Jeri, it sounds like we were in about the same place! Great job and cheers to both of us:) I wish I could assure myself that I will be perfect for the rest of the weekend! I just woke up and it is 9:30 AM here, but it is glorious beautiful day outside! Wow!!! Time for hanging the Christmas lights!

  2. Glad the day worked out for you Jeri. You are right in that we have to make our eating part of our lifestyle...our new lifestyle, and it has to be one we can live with. I had a few bites of potatoes and stuffing too, but that was it. It was a great day with family. Hugs to you from me!

  5. I agree everyday we should be thankful for what we have and no need to put it into one day. I am learning that more and more.

  6. Hi Jeri,
I have been enjoying reading your posts and trying your recipes. I have a question. Is there a difference between almond meal and almond flour? I made almond pancakes this morning for my son (Brian)and myself. The package I used said Almond Meal/Flour. The pancakes made me a little bloated, is this a side effect of Almond Meal?
I want to go back to August to read where you started. Thanks for sharing the recipes. I want to make the crackers for my son tomorrow.

  8. Jeri, having a low-key, just the two of you, Thanksgiving dinner sounds pretty nice right now. Sometimes the craziness of a huge affair leaves you exhausted instead of satisfied. Seems we all did alright for Thanksgiving and now onto the Christmas season!

  9. Jeri,
I don't have a blog,,,,but I'm a follower of all of you on this group. You all have helped me so much. Believe me you are all young enough to not have wrinkles to deal with. Seems like my arms are the worse source of loose skin. I won't wear anything that is sleeveless (like Amber's beautiful dress) I'm even looking for 3/4 or long sleeve tops now. BUT,,,, I am happy to get some weight off and am fairly healthy (diabetes 2, afib, which I take coumadin to keep a blood thinner and from forming a clot)
This may sound horrible to some but I hope to out live my son how is 57, This would be the worse thing I would go through in my life,,,, I don't want to die first as I know he will not get the care we give him. Brian is in a wheel chair ,can't stand alone, wears diapers. I have a helper that comes to the house everyday to get him up, shower, dress him and bring him down, We have a stair glide and a special seat in the van that turns and lowers outside. These are a big help. Brian also needs the BFC as he sits so much, and loves to eat,,,, So all the good recipes from all you girls has been a great help to me. Others know this info,,, Since you asked for an update I wanted you to know something about me, Where did you send the info about the almond meal?
    Thanks for commenting to me
