Saturday Greetings!

Yesterday I got too hungry...busy working, etc.
By dinner I was grumpy and anxious. Yep-I get grumpy too! We ended up going to dinner, and I had a green salad w/ Brisket-it was delicious.  I asked for extra meat, and they brought it to me covered in
bbq sauce.  Generally, I would have just wiped it off-or ate it, but I asked them to take it back because I couldn't eat it, due to the sugar.  That was a huge break through for me...huge. I have this issue of never wanting to seem demanding--I'm working through that.

So here's my food for yesterday:
Brfst:
Jay Robb chocolate shake w/ spinach (sounds goofy I know, but you can hardly taste the spinach-warning: odd green color)
Lunch:
 hummus/celery/radishes/almond crackers
Pero w/ 1/2 & 1/2
Snack:
chocolate/reddi whip
Dinner:
Salad/Brisket...ranch dressing...(a few unauthorized bites of non-FT'ing food off my honey's plate)
After dinner treat:
Pero w/ 1/2 & 1/2

You'll not find 'perfection' here with me, but I'm doing well. I feel good, my clothes are fitting better, and my belly is getting flatter.  I'm  feeling more confident, and more in control of my food addictions. I appreciate not feeling 'driven' by a carb cycle (that's what I call it), and I feel satisfied after my meals.
I bet each of you can think of one thing that's going better because you're trying to create a healthier life. I love gratitude, and reflecting on the good is a powerful force in our life.
Thank you for your awareness and support.
Enjoy your Saturday too!

  1. HI Jeri, next time try eating a hard boiled egg or 2 with your shake, maybe you won't be so hungry.
All you food sounds great. In the beginning my hubby would always roll his eyes when I asked for special stuff in restaurants. But now he understands and even says it first sometimes.
    Have a great day :-)

  2. Jeri, I will have to try the spinach in my jay robb shake....sounds a little scarey lol. Great job on sending back the briskett covered on BBQ sauce. Resturants are so use to it now days with all the people on diets and allergies.

  3. I agree with you about this eating plan. It is satisfying and healthy! It's so nice to eat things we enjoy, come up with fun recipes, and feel good! This support circle isn't bad either!!

  4. As far as I'm concerned, perfection is in the eye of the beholder! It looks to me like you're doing great! I don't like shakes as meal replacements - they make me horribly hungry. They're OK as snacks, but I can't use them as a food alternative. Great job sending back the bbq, and have a great rest of your weekend!

  5. Hi Jerri. Sounds like you are coming along fine on the fast track. I'm so far from perfection too, but I keep trying to be better, and that's all we can do. I'm not sure I would have send the brisket back. I would have eaten it and counted it towards my sugar. Then later I would have realized how much over I was, and felt bad. This is what I need to work on. The little cheats here and there are holding me back. I'm refocusing and recommiting today to do better. I'm going to try and write a blog post about it later. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
